Easter Candles: Why Beeswax is the Best Choice for Your Festive Table

An Easter table without a candle is like spring without the first blossoms. Something is missing. Perhaps light, perhaps mood, perhaps that coziness that brings everyone sitting at the table together. But not just any candle is suitable for a festive table. If you want the celebration to be not only beautiful, but also safe, natural, and meaningful – it's worth paying attention to what your candle is made of.

Beeswax – the oldest and most natural candle material

Beeswax has been used for candles since ancient times – even in ancient Egypt, it was one of the most important materials. And for good reason. Unlike paraffin, which is a petroleum product, beeswax is completely natural. It is produced by the bees themselves, requiring no agricultural land or chemical processing.

When you light a beeswax candle, you immediately feel the difference. A soft, subtle honey aroma fills the room without any artificial fragrances. The flame is warmer and more soothing, and the burning time is significantly longer than ordinary candles. This means you won't have to worry throughout the Easter dinner whether the candle will still be burning when it's time for dessert.

Why is this particularly important for the Easter table?

During Easter, the whole family often gathers at the table – from the youngest to the oldest. Beeswax candles, when burning, do not release harmful chemicals, making them safe even around children and pets. They hardly smoke and do not create soot that would spoil the festive mood (and the tablecloth).

In addition, the natural warm light of beeswax resembles sunlight – it is soft, gentle on the eyes, and creates that special atmosphere that is difficult to achieve with electric light or paraffin.

"Margutis" – an Easter candle that combines tradition and craftsmanship

When creating the Easter beeswax candle "Margutis," we wanted to create something more than just a candle. The egg-shaped gypsum container is hand-poured and painted, decorated with spring motifs, and covered with a glossy, heat-resistant varnish. And inside – a natural beeswax candle whose yolk resembles a real egg yolk.

Each "Margutis" is unique – since it is hand-painted, the pattern never repeats. The burning time is about 9 hours, and packaged in a beautiful box, it makes an excellent gift that can confidently be given instead of an ordinary chocolate bunny.

If this year you want your Easter table to smell of honey, not chemicals – visit Matėja's handmade candle collection and find your "Margutis."
